It first occurred to me to be a lawyer when I took Business Law in college. I thought: finally, something I am good at! Lol. Anyway, it was a crash course in law over the course of one quarter in school. I did great in the course and, as a result, joined the mock trial team, did independent research for the instructor, made new friends, etc. What a great experience, and it really did change my life. Was it for the better? I don't know.
On the one hand, becoming a lawyer is undoubtedly the best thing I have done for myself in terms of social development and income. On the other hand, I could easily have done something else. I wonder to this day what would have happened if I had succeeded in getting a technical or engineering degree. I would probably be a reclusive scientist with no social skills. Part of me doesn't want to be that person, but part of me does. This is one of those situations where if I could do it over again, I probably would have made different choices.
