whiteguyinchina from private IP /all If I will be in Asia more next year, I really need JDU to step up It's really the only way besides exercise that I can stay sane during extended trips. Think of it as a psychological stress release valve or some sort of self therapy. Please step it up JDU. For my mental health sake. Fri, 08 Nov 2024 18:53:20 -0800
zerosugar from private IP /all Do you notice high end hotels have a problem with prostitution? Are they as bad in Asia as they are here in USA? I am at the Peninsula now in dt Chicago and was nearly run over by a group of prostitutes. They didn’t even excuse themselves. I also noticed this in other cities. Not even sure if they were women. zerosugar from private IP /all Chicago is also not as bad as some southern states where meth heads and prostitutes frequent lobbies of high end hotels to steal cellphones and wallets and stuff. The Omni in Dallas really had a problem with shady characters. Now I’m sitting across from these strange women who I imagine came here after their work. They look like they work in the HR department somewhere. I hate the people who frequent these types of hotels. I much prefer mid hotels where there are families and you can see some lonely dads. You can meet some quality people at morning buffets in mid hotels, but mid hotels and lower end hotels tend to be too dirty in the USA. European hotels even cheap ones are so clean. whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Well, one time I was at the St Regis in downtown Shanghai for an event, and whilst waiting in the lobby I noticed the same thing. But this was 20 something women scantily dressed going up alone on the elevator. I was really surprised because St Regis is a fancy upscale hotel. The worst I saw was at a Japanese hotel in Shanghai. There was a lady with an iPad outside the hotel taking orders for women. It was so outrageous. That was some years ago, fortunately that has been cleaned up. I actually chose not to stay at that hotel again this time for that very reason, just too sleazy. I started to like middle low end hotels. A Chinese franchise hotel. Cheaper than an American franchise, same type of clean, and usually normal Chinese people staying there. Worst are business hotels at some port town. The rooms smell like cigarettes. whiteguyinchina from private IP /all To answer your question, it is usually much much worse in Asia, depending on your location, than anything you have ever seen in America. Fri, 08 Nov 2024 21:22:39 -0800
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all I stayed at the Omni in New Orleans and few years ago. That was a scary place. So was New Orleans lol. Sat, 09 Nov 2024 13:42:36 -0800
zerosugar from private IP Reply #11217874 I’ve never been to New Orleans, but lately see many posts about crime in Louisiana. I worked with a client out of Shreveport a while back. Strange people. Sat, 09 Nov 2024 15:05:23 -0800
zerosugar from private IP Reply #18182357 Finally found the link I was looking for about Louisiana. About a year ago, I saw a post from this mother on FB in one of my prayer groups talking about how her daughter was murdered. Her daughter’s name was Tori and I later managed to find the news article. She was this pretty redhead girl who was shot inside of her car. Terrible. Happened in Hammond, Louisiana. https://www.fox8live.com/2023/01/30/woman-fatally-shot-inside-vehicle-hammond-teen-booked-first-degree-murder/?outputType=amp Sun, 10 Nov 2024 14:54:58 -0800
