The Foppoli trial went to the jury today
I'm freaking exhausted after two months of trial. Now we wait for the verdict. The faster it is, the better it is for Defendant in my opinion. He's been
buried in the newspapers and I don't think that is reflective of what the final result will be, but we'll see. I was getting nods and people were taking notes
during my closing.

Jury is deliberating Tuesday-Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Looks like I'll be sitting in the courtroom for the next week getting other work done. Lol.

Pretty insane. My kids teacher just did a jury trial for aggravated assault with deadly weapon and they finished in one day, including voir dire.

We got buried with a $13 million verdict and a finding of malice, oppression, or fraud. 20-30 also lost, with at least $3 million against them. Punitive
damages trial will be on Tuesday.

Phase Two trial was on Tuesday and the jury will get the punitive damages case on Wednesday. Case will finally be over for now. We intend to appeal, but that
process is longer and focused on paperwork instead of more courtroom work. I'm looking forward to getting back to my business and family after four straight
months of jury trials.

Yes, total is about $15 million. He is entitled to an offset of around $2 million for settlement proceeds from joint tortfeasors who settled. Then we will
file a motion to reduce the award, which will likely be denied. Thus, his net exposure is likely to be around $13 million pending the results of the appeal,
which could take two years to resolve. Jennifer talked to some of the jurors today and they said there is nothing we could have done differently-- they simply
disliked our client. They were fine with how we handled the case.

It's crazy to me that the Ku v. Herchen verdict that we got for the family was $23.6 million, and this one is $15 million. Killing your spouse is apparently
only somewhat worse than what my client was found to have done. In any case, my client obviously didn't come across well, and the jury took the opportunity to
punish him.

Any attorney would advise bankruptcy here, especially considering that some of the claims are subject to discharge. Non-dischargeable claims require the debtor
to have willfully *and* maliciously *intended* to injure someone, and ordinary intentional torts and even punitive damages for these types of claim may not rise
to that level. However, our current plan is to file a motion for new trial and also appeal. We have a check-in with the judge this Friday and I'll know the
briefing schedule and hearing dates, among other things.
