A now-former client just went insane and posted a two-hour livestream claiming to be the Messiah

This meltdown is all on Facebook, so I can freely share the fact that he is having a mental health crisis and needs treatment. The *least bad* Facebook post
calls me a pedophile and tells me to kill myself so that I can enter Hell, where he has decreed I belong. There are far worse posts.

I invoked Rule 1.6(b) and sent the wife's lawyer my last text exchange with the client, in which I told the client to seek treatment due to his condition, and
the reasons. I was well within my rights to do this for prevention of his death and so his family knows that every effort was made to save him.

I don't know how I feel about this. Treatment-resistant mental health conditions are part involuntary, but part voluntary, so my sympathy register is pretty
low right now. Especially after being told I have abused children, that God knows what I did, and that the police are on their way to arrest me...sad. What
have other people done in similar scenarios?

Wow. You were right to invoke rule 1.6. That’s scary. Mental illness is sadly extremely common these days. The mentally unstable truly outnumber “normal”
people.

Sadly, mental illness is even more common here in Italy than back in the USA. I see some nut jobs here.

@marlonTest Everything was fine when he signed and paid. The first inkling of
any problem was when he visited me at the office for an initial appointment a week later, and he first disclosed a few things that were red flags. But since he
was in treatment, it seemed manageable until he went totally freaking insane this weekend. I don't know how I can defend against this kind of thing, even if I
put in the contract that the person must be and remain compliant with their treatment plan.

That would be a funny movie. He hasn't smote me or sent me to Hell yet, so he must not be the Messiah. Lol.
