Alcohol

I am not a heavy drinker but consume like an average 4 beers a day. I have done this more or less for 25 years. I dont miss work nor have I ever gotten a DWI or
in trouble because of alcohol. I quit earlier this year for about 35 days. The issue is that ALL my fun social activities: mixers, family outings, NFL games,
college football, other sports too, SINCE YOUTH have involved alcohol. Basically alcohol has always been around any fun activity. I feel I could quit but I
believe a lot of the fun activities would be not be as much fun! I drink beer no hard stuff. Thoughts?

Well it's interesting because when I lived in Shanghai I made it a point to socialize a lot and was basically drinking 3-4 times a week at least, more than I
would drink in college. It was nice because it was social but also unhealthy.

Anyway i came to realize that the connection between alcohol and socializing is really in my head. I mean no one pays attention to how much other people drink.
So if you roll with one or two glasses of wine while others drink 4 or 5 or same with beers, no one notices and the socializing is similar. Drinking less
doesn't affect my socializing is what I am trying to say unless it's Chinese drinking where we go glass for glass.

Now I will say that being sober while others get drunk kind of sucks because you realize how stupid people get even when slightly inebriated. Its kind of
annoying to be the only sober one in a room full of drunks. So your socializing may be affected in that way.

I do not like how alcohol makes me feel. I mean the after effects of drinking. Bad sleep low energy the next day feeling fat or full. And being drunk is also
kind of boring.

Is that a thorough answer?

What is the point of your post anyway? General comment or do you think you drink too much. 3-4 beers a day for years is a lot. Hope they are good beers.

You really dont have to quit drinking but just cut it by 1/2. Treat alcohol like a soda. No one should have more than 1 soda a day 2 tops. Otherwise diabeeetus

I am an expert in this field and will be weighing in at my earliest opportunity. Sorry, was on the gun range all day on Wednesday for the law firm shooting
trip, and I am fried.

I quit drinking a while back, and it definitely has had an impact on the social life I used to lead.
