My Biglaw associate charges $950 an hour

Discounted 10% for because we're a startup (and they probably have No Business these days because of the lack of foreign investors in China last year). And this
is probably lower due to China market not the US.

I also didn't know Biglaw billed only once a year. Interesting getting a mid-5-figure bill for like 3 conversations, one contract review, and maybe 100 text
messages.

Do you feel like you got your money's worth? Or was it a waste? I had to make my retainer non-refundable because people constantly flake or change their
minds, and I shouldn't be left holding the bag once I take on their case.

Never mind I checked again, the associate is only billing at $700, the partner at a bit over 1k, which evidently isn't that high.

I got my money's worth in the sense that I need a multinational M&A lawyer who can deal with combining a company with branches in 2 countries and taking
investment in it, and only Biglaw has that capability. Otherwise, had a few free meals with them, and I guess there's the bragging rights of being able to
afford a V50 firm, but that's about it.
