French food is not good
Besides pastries and breads, which are the best, french food is overhyped. Bland and monotone. Beef bourginon is beef stew in wine? Poulet frit is chicken and
fries?
High end french food is good from technical point of view, but no one can eat high end french food daily.

There are many good yogurts in France and cheeses, but of course that may be hard if somebody is lactose intolerant. With that being said, I loathe foie de
gras. I think it’s gross and cruel and ducks are so cute. French fries are my favorite food ever though. There are many good pastries too such as macrons. I
also love crepes, both savory and sweet.
Here are some articles on French cuisine. I think in modern times, French cuisine is good. Historically, it was not the best. Many credit Marie de Medici with
improving it and bringing her chefs from Italy.

I felt the same in the past. I guess you could say my education started in the east, but I came out in the west. I can appreciate western countries in ways I
did not 10 years ago.
Maybe you might enjoy Barcelona. They have some simple dishes there comparable to France, but not as complex. Torta espanola is great. Many of the cheese
sandwiches and the bread and tomatoes (similar to bruschetta) are so good too. I just dislike they eat so much jamon as I don’t eat pork. I don’t think
it’s a sin or anything, but piggies are so cute and the thought of them squealing is sad.

You are so smart. Yes I forgot about the cheeses and yogurts. Also excellent.
And yes, my tastes have changed since being in Asia for so long. Western food tastes quite bland.
Still think, italian food for example is better than french. In terms of taste. I get that some french food is royal court food and can be sophisticated, but
who eats sophisticated every day
Even Donald Trump, who will be president again, has KFC or a steak with ketchup instead of foie Gras or caviar.
