If I am not mistaken that was also the era of Cicero who was famous for oratory. Oratory was a celebrated skill and was basically the art of saying nothing in a
very convincing and artful way.
Also lots of sexual deviance amongst the emperors.
There are parallels IMHO

Hard to believe MMA is a sanctioned sport. Beating the shit out of someone else should not be incentivized. However, I do think that if we're going to have
professional boxing in its current state, we should allow MMA. It's also too big to get canceled at this point.
