I think it reflects badly on our society. Like, roman society was at its most
degenerate when the coliseum was built. That epoch had wars and gladiators and
slavery and pining about the golden age gone past

If I am not mistaken that was also the era of Cicero who was famous for oratory.
Oratory was a celebrated skill and was basically the art of saying nothing in a
very convincing and artful way.

Also lots of sexual deviance amongst the emperors. 

There are parallels IMHO

Hard to believe MMA is a sanctioned sport.  Beating the shit out of someone else
should not be incentivized.  However, I do think that if we're going to have
professional boxing in its current state, we should allow MMA.  It's also too
big to get canceled at this point.
