friends now. I'm like, I can't handle more friends," he said with a laugh.

John Walker, 73, moved from Australia to Chiang Mai, a province in northern
Thailand, in 2019. He lives on an annual pension of about $18,000 and saves
about 40% of his income. "People from all different countries come here," he
told BI. "It's got a huge retirement community."

Similarly, Jeffrey Odgen, 75, decided to retire in Hua Hin, a beach town south
of Bangkok. "The people here are very respectful. They respect their elders,
whereas you don't get that in other European countries," said Odgen, who's

desperate for easy and cheap sex, Thailand may be the place. My uncle has this
Iranian friend named Reza aka Papa Kevin to the Thai girls. This guy destroyed
his life in Thailand. He was divorced from an American wife and used Thailand as
an outlet. When he still had money, he built a house there for some woman he
married. He went back to the USA and when he returned to Thailand, she threw him
out and nothing he could do in since foreigners cannot own property in Thailand.
He told he he thought she said she loved him forever. She told him that was
yesterday and this is today. Now he is pretty much a loser who relies on money
from his sister. She runs a Persian restaurant. Anyway, he now comes back to the
USA every few months to work seasonally at Macys. Then he goes back to Thailand
to spend more money for cheap sex.
Japan and Italy are nice for women. If you are a man and actually invested in
spending time, you could find somebody who likes you for you and not just a
visa.
With that being said, my mom has a coworker who got lucky in Thailand. He is
older though and married a woman around his age with a son from a previous
marriage. She stayed with him and they have been together for decades and also
have a home in Thailand.
Southeast Asia doesn’t interest me much to be honest. Seeing people eat exotic
meats isn’t my thing. Joran van der Sloot became an expat in Thailand after he
was accused of murdering Natalee Holloway and before he went down to Peru and
killed Stefany Flores where he is now in prison. Thailand and Laos seem to
generally attract shady people.

Also doesn’t Thailand have high rates of STDs, you can screw around and make
the biggest mistake of your life and contract HIV.

my uncle made a snack. He didn't know that the little dog's dish had a piece of
tape on the bottom. Anyway, he took the dog plate out of the cupboard and gave
it it to Papa Kevin to eat out of. We didn't tell Papa Kevin, but after Papa
Kevin left back to Alabama as he was already going broke and my uncle didn't
want to have to support him the entire trip so be bought him a bus ticket back
to Alabama, we told my uncle he gave that dude the dog dish. I guess what you
don't know can't hurt you. lol.
This Reza aka Kevin dude is gross and he even smokes long skinny lady
cigarettes. He has a pretty successful brother and sister who have now moved to
Alabama. My uncles both knew lots of Iranians in Alabama from their time in the
restaurant business. There was this other Iranian dude who hilariously called
himself French Bobby. He did grow up in France and likely was also born there,
but he was Iranian.
If you want to know another Thai love story. My mom works for the airline and
many of her male coworkers go there. One young blonde early millennial late Gen
X guy years ago found a wife in Thailand. She had two children. He adopted the
kids and brought them and the wife here. She died after a few weeks in the USA.
No clue what the cause, but he kept the children. Very sad.
Some Italian villages still have pretty crazy social scenes like soap operas. My
village died down, but back in the early 10s, there were some crazy affairs that
happened. Keep in mind, it's not just Italians in some of the villages. Many
Romanian ladies who work as caregivers hanging out in some of the Italian
villages these days. Romanians and Moldovans may be the Thai ladies of Europe. I
guess it all depends on what you want though. Bangkok looks more developed these
days. I was seeing some of their cinemas, they look higher tech than the USA,
but I guess Thailand is still a third world country???? Brokedown Palace should
also be a cautionary tale. I loved that film... but yeah police in Thailand seem
icky. In Italy, police never bother anybody. The Amada Knox case is a huge

may be from Melbourne. I honestly know more people in Australia than I probably
do in Chicago. It's just crazy. Kanye West's gf Bianca Censor is also Italian
Australian. All the same, even before many people from various European and
Middle Eastern countries went to Australia, it was originally a British penal
colony so I guess some of the stuff about the country makes sense.
The biker article highlights another reason why Thailand is risky though, the
death penalty. They carried out an execution in 2019 and I think even have
mandatory death penalty not just for homicide, but also other crimes like drugs.

punishable by death. They also appear to have caning for lesser crimes. There
was that story in the '90s about the American offender who vandalized cars and
was caned in Singapore. The question is: if more offenders received corporal
punishment, would there be less crime? I don't think the idea of sitting in a
cell reading magazines is much of a deterrent to most criminals. What we need
is Judge Dredd, who can mete out justice on the spot so that criminals connect
the crime with the punishment and offend less.

scums destroying communities. In the case of those pushing heroin often laced
with fentanyl, they are selling a product they know can kill somebody instantly.
I don’t feel sorry for them at all and think they should be treated just as we
treat those who murder. With that being said, I don’t support the same
penalties for users who get caught with much smaller amounts of drugs.

unadventurous farang trying to survive on a few groats a day for the rest of
their lives. Chiang Mai has a popping expat scene in areas like Nimman. Food is
great, health care good in the cities, and farang can get away with a lot. I'd
be happy to live there, but for the time difference.

and there's a lot to see in the area. Malaysia has even better food, and the
same beaches untouched by the hordes that pollute southern Thailand beaches.
Cambodia is where the desperados who are too skeevy even for Bangkok go. In Laos
you can crawl into a hut for a few dollars a night and smoke opium until the
cows come home.
