Mostly, the French and Spanish who were larger powers colonized us for years. You can find French and Spanish castles throughout Italy to this day. Tbh, for the longest time, I had zero interest in western history. Much of my interests were in eastern topics. Namely, just learning about different religions and ethnic groups in the Middle East. I guess topics surrounding sexuality can sometimes be difficult to write about, especially in 2024. A part of western history and sexuality I do find interesting is the castrati.
