Andy from private IP, post #16946284 /all Happy freaking New Year I hope all is well with everyone. Just letting folks know that 2024 was my best year of all time across every metric that's measurable. We crushed it at the law firm, my daughter turned two and started nursery school, I did several trials, and I have fourteen trials set in the next 12 months. 2025 is on the right trajectory so far. Thanks for your interest and encouragement. #Alcohol #LawFirm Wed, 01 Jan 2025 19:04:45 -0800
marlon from private IP Reply #12293414 Well deserved! Tonight may be the most depressing night of the year, the holiday season is over, back to the grind. Wed, 01 Jan 2025 21:16:10 -0800
zerosugar from private IP Reply #19626891 @marlonTest NYE is very depressing for some reason. My least favorite holiday because it can be nostalgic in the worst possible way. At the same time, the 12 days of Christmas are still going until the Epiphany. Some believe Christmas even extends until the baptismal which is the Sunday after the Epiphany, but yes in the USA people pack up after new year’s day. Last year when I was in Italy in early February, Christmas decorations were still going strong and I loved it. I hate winter after the holidays. Late January and February are the most miserable times. I’m not taking down my tree until after the Epiphany. Wed, 01 Jan 2025 21:18:34 -0800
zerosugar from private IP Reply #19287816 Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday btw so I get so sad at NYE knowing it’s almost all coming to an end. While I love and appreciate the religious significance of Easter, it’s sort of a morning holiday. Almost nobody gets the Monday after Easter off too :-/ Christmas is the best time of year. zerosugar from private IP Reply #16577260 @marlonTest I’ve always had fake trees my whole life. Just a green fake tree. If it was up to me, I would get a white one, but my mother always told me they look too retro. I see white as whimsical and cute, but yes sometimes better to stick to traditional green. I don’t like the idea of getting a real tree yearly. We have a big pine tree outside we decorate though or rather we keep the lights on year round then turn it on during the holidays. zerosugar from private IP Reply #17757722 The only thing I really dislike about the holidays is all the money spent on gifts! You can feel really broke come January. Then in addition to gifts, all the money spent on clothes to go out to parties and stuff with. Unfortunately but in some ways thankfully, I’m estranged from most of my cousins so I don’t have to bother with them. There is a saying I grew up with which is roughly translated to few saints, few rosaries. Happy to keep more of my money for myself. Thu, 02 Jan 2025 17:22:56 -0800
