Egg McMuffin celebrating 50th anniversary with a special sandwich deal
McDonald's is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Egg McMuffin.
Egg McMuffin breakfast sandwiches offered for $1 on Sunday's National Egg McMuffin Day.
Egg prices might be skyrocketing, but national fast-food chain McDonald's has a deal on its iconic egg sandwich.
It was 50 years ago that the fast-food giant entered the breakfast market introducing its famed sandwich, the Egg McMuffin.
And McDonald’s is celebrating its breakfast sandwich in a big way.
The Egg McMuffin is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a special offer from McDonald's.
In honor of its 50th, McDonald’s has an exclusive offer on Sunday’s National Egg McMuffin Day. On Sunday, you can get an Egg McMuffin or Sausage McMuffin
with Egg sandwich for a $1 each. The offer is exclusively through its App.
"At McDonald's, breakfast isn't just a meal; it's a cherished tradition and cornerstone of our brand," said McDonald's USA President Joe Erlinger in a news
release. "Our fans know they can always count on us for a one-of-a-kind breakfast experience, anchored in great value and high-quality ingredients."
Another deal starts Monday and runs through March 30 offering its McDonald’s Sausage McMuffin with Egg buy-one-get-one free when ordered for McDelivery
through the McDonald’s App.
McDonald's also announced its Bagel Sandwiches are now available at locations nationwide and by the end of 2026, more than half of its U.S. restaurants will
offer Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

Egg McMuffin the early days
McDonald’s Egg McMuffin sandwich got its first start in 1971 as a concept invented by Herb Peterson, a Santa Barbara California McDonald’s franchisee.
Peterson presented the sandwich to McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc as a take on Eggs Benedict in the palm of your hand.
Decades later the Egg McMuffin became a grab-and-go option, fueling morning appetites with its sandwich of a fully cooked egg in a circle shape between a slice
of Canadian bacon and a slice of American cheese served on toasted and buttered English muffin.

You know what’s crazy? Since I was a kid, I cannot really enjoy so many breakfast sandwiches because they all have
eggs and I really have an aversion to eggs. The smell of eggs and the texture have always bothered me. I will eat eggs as an ingredient or when you can barely
taste them like in frittata or torta espanola which have lots of flour. I like crepes too because thin and not eggy flavor or smell. Otherwise, my morning or
afternoon sandwich is a grilled cheese or maybe toast or bagel with butter or cream cheese. Starbucks has a few breakfast sandwiches too that I can get without
egg like the impossible one and the turkey bacon. The steak bagel at Mcdonald's was fine too with no egg, but I get scared now to eat meats that aren’t
burgers or chicken patties at restaurants.

What’s a torta española? I know tortilla española, but that doesn’t have flour.

you can include flour in torta espanola or frittata to firm up the texture, but many egg lovers do not traditionally
do that. now to my knowledge though frittata almost always has flour. torta espanola is just your typical tapas similar to frittata or quiche. they tend to add
onion to it more in catalonia, but some make it just with potatoes.

wish i could eat them again. back in 1983 my parents drove me & me two sisters, all of us in the backseat, to school
every day, the cold winter mornings were cold, but we got MD's, i loved the Big Breakfast, cinnamon bun, etc but i got the shits so bad, i should have won an
Olympic medal for holding my shits in while sitting in that classroom, breaktime came, bunch of boys in the bathroom hanging out, i was desperate for them to
go, they started noticing my sad face, i was miserable, the bastards would say understanding shit to me, like it were the Phil Donahue show, i couldn't just
shit my brains out, they would laugh & tell the girls.
