Outlandishly pants-on-head barking mad insane fake/conspiracy stuff like this is, I'm convinced, a way to get a
snapshot of the whackjob (dis)information ecosystem. A sufficiently advanced actor can probably get a decent view, almost in real time, of the information
networks through which something like this propagates.
All useful for finding the persons who amplify the message most effectively. Which is of course useful for when you want to launch your next psyop.
