I randomly send thank-you emails to individual inventors, engineers, and
corporate executives
Does anyone else do this? I think more people should. Here is a sample that I
just sent to the game designer at Nintendo who created Mario, Legend of Zelda,
Donkey Kong, and other cornerstones of home entertainment:
アメリカからのご挨拶

以来、あなたのゲームのファンです。任天堂でのあなたの仕事に深い感謝の意を表し、すべてのゲームに感謝するためにこの手紙を書いています。ご存知のとおり、あなたの仕事は何百万人もの人々にインスピレーションを与え、世界中の多くの人々から高く評価されています。任天堂での素晴らしい仕事を続け、あなたが授かった貴重な才能をこれからも使い続けてください。

Dear Mr. Miyamoto,
I have been a fan of your games since the mid-1980s on the Nintendo
Entertainment System. I write to express my profound appreciation for your work
with Nintendo, and to say thanks for all the games. As I'm sure you know, your
work has inspired millions of people and is greatly appreciated by a large part
of the world. Please keep up your excellent work at Nintendo and continue using
all the rare gifts you have been blessed with.
Sincerely,
Andrew Watters
I've sent positive product feedback to numerous manufacturers of tools and
equipment, just to keep them informed that people appreciate their products.
The funny thing is that when I do this, the recipients of the praise act like
it's extremely rare for someone to express anything positive. I guess 99.9% of
their feedback is negative when problems occur.

Reply #15583680 I have done this with some
scientists and medical researchers. It’s nice to write letters and thank
people while encouraging them to continue their work.
