Missing person was decreed to have died in Taiwan; justice is coming for my suspect.

Five and a half years after the disappearance and presumed death of the victim in November 2019, this wrongful death case is finally going to trial, hopefully
this Monday. I am a witness and another attorney is lead trial counsel, since I did a bunch of the investigation. I have already testified once in Probate
court in a proceeding to establish that the victim is legally dead, which was decided in our favor. Hard to believe I posted the narrative two and a half years
ago in 2022, which was only possible because there had been a motion for summary judgment that disclosed all of the evidence. You never see this type of
investigation published online, and it was a nice opportunity to circulate it. I received feedback from the California Attorney General's office and Taiwan
Criminal Investigation Bureau that they thought my approach of using the little-known statute authorizing conservatorship of a missing person estate to solve a
homicide was highly innovative. That validated my original idea, as did our solution to the case: using the subpoena power to capture the originating IP
address of the fake email that the suspect sent from his deceased wife's email account, just like in the case of USA v. Brimager. Brimager was an overseas
murder case with a similar fact pattern.
Assuming the trial starts Monday, the only things the defendant can do to disrupt the proceedings are to file bankruptcy or commit suicide. He can't
practically do either, because neither option will escape him/his estate from the financial impact if we win the wrongful death case and get millions of
dollars. This is a freaking crazy fact pattern. The Taiwanese CIB want to nail this guy and they are testifying in the trial, as well. The case has already
been written up in detail in a local paper, but expect a major news article with the result, especially if we win.

Definitely odd behavior for a husband to leave the country after his wife did not show up for a flight
If the testimony or interrogation videos ever become public, you should forward them to the behavioral panel, a YouTube channel of behavior experts who analyze
the veracity or lack thereof

wow. what a scary and sad story. you should eventually make a documentary on it if its ok with her parents. poor woman. i hope the family eventually get
answers. she was pretty too. what a tragedy. almost 6 years.

The trial got moved to June 2. Will update during the trial after my testimony is completed. I made some poster boards for it that will be great visual
aids.
