contract law
my business acquaintance says i owe him $900 for software on which we usually go 50/50 on, have so for several years now. But this year was a bad year, we are
fighting over everything, and i did not expect him to forward his half of the $$ to me, and he ended up paying for the whole thing himself, without telling me.
Now it's a few months later, and he wants his half of the money. He claims i said i would paid my half, but this was before he changed how we did things. He
now does 90% of the work, and relegated me to an administrative role, with a much lower pay. Before, I was doing 99% of the work. But the software is still in
my name, and only i can log into it, he just emails me the finished file & I efile the return. The way i see it, he voided the contract we had together, so
what I said before about paying half of the cost is no longer in effect.

I would definitely talk about it before resorting to legal bullshit. Tell him yoh don't think it's fair you have to pay half price when your pay has been cut
down. Cut down your share proportionally to your cut in salary. Yoh got a 50% pay cut, you pay 25% /half of half/. Wouldn't blow out a business relationship
over a couple of hundred of bucks.
