I generally do the same thing I do when people misbehave in negotiations. I stay stone silent for long enough to make things uncomfortable, and look at them
like they're from another planet.

Generally the one who stays calmest, wins. Agree with blee here. Just smile and let them have their tirade. The public perception will be, wow that guy is an
asshole. Think will Smith and Chris rock incident. Smith got the slap and yell in, but Chris Rock was the winner.
