film The Conclave

Previously Andy gave a review on this film. I usually don’t know what to make of films based on religion. Some are good and some not so much. I liked the Two
Popes and I liked the one on Padre Pio that Shia LeBeouf did. Anyway, I gave Conclave a chance last night and I really really liked it. Great film and very
creative. Suspenseful and spiritual too. The twist at the end was crazy and unexpected. I won’t give it away to who hasn’t seen the film. Throughout the
whole film, I disliked Stanley Tucci’s character. The crazy thing is many cardinals are probably like him today. Who knows? I was rooting for Tedesco the
entire time. I think the actor Sergio Castellitto really brought this eccentric flamboyant character of Tedesco to life. When he first arrived. Omg! He was
super handsome too. He is old as in like his 70s, but surprisingly handsome. I would marry him lol. I also liked him in a film with Penelope Cruz many years ago
called Non Ti Muovere.

I also loved the character of the African cardinal who years ago had a relationship with the nun. He was so cool too and I loved that storyline.

I think overall it was a nice movie to watch with the new Pope who is shockingly from Chicago. I was hoping for Cardinal Pietro Parolin as like Tedesco in the
film, I felt it was time for another Italian. Of course I consider Pope Francis 100 percent Italian too. 3/4 from Piedmont and 1/4 from Liguria. Still, to have
a man like Parolin who understands the Vatican’s hierarchy would have been nice. I love his name too, but maybe the cardinals were too scared of St.
Malachy’s prophecy of Peter the Roman prophecy being fulfilled. Parolin had a nice face and blue eyes too and just looked like a pope. His soft spoken nature
was also nice. Oh well! Just have to trust the in the Holy Spirit and trust that the cardinals were guided in selecting Prevost. Prevost’s grandfather was
born in Torino, but I find it funny that the media just want to speculate about possible nonwhite origins of his mother’s family who were in the Dominican
Republic which is attached to Haiti and at the time was called Haiti. He calls his mom “Spanish,” but who knows?
Either way, his background is irrelevant. Just hope for a holy Pope!

P.S. I have refrained from posting on forums and in social media because unfortunately a certain person is back to stalking my accounts and it’s super scary.
I may talk about it when the time is appropriate, but now it doesn’t feel safe to talk about it.

I don't think I reviewed this one, since I only watched the first 15 minutes back when I might have posted about it. I continued with the next 30 minutes and
it looks really interesting. The attention to detail is stunning. And the scenario seems really plausible. I read the synopsis on Wikipedia and it spoiled
the ending for me, but I don't mind because it was a shocker that I wouldn't have believed if I had seen it in the movie first. Lol.

@AndyTest Oh I must have you confused with somebody else then. Somebody had posted
about the film and I at the time was skeptical to watch it. It was getting hype and I didn't know what to think.

ohhhh now I see. You had written a post saying it looked good. Anyway, I saw it. It was on Amazon I think and I liked it. It had some colorful characters,
interesting storylines, and nice cinematography. I don’t think the twist at the end was needed and seemed a bit forced. I can see such a thing happening in
the middle ages, but not in 2025. I assumed they were going to say he had gone for cancer treatment or something. Never in a million years did I think that…
Well it was totally an unexpected ending. The others were disqualified and then they end up with the candidate who has the biggest secret. I really liked the
room at the end too. Beautiful scene.
