What in the world does it mean to be on tether? This is a term of art with which I am not familiar. Must be some kind of geofencing thing.

Heh it would be funny if you ran a GPS spoofer in the vicinity of persons known to be encumbered in this way. In minecraft.

Detroit woman who shot at 'repo man' charged

A Detroit woman accused of shooting at a man as he tried to repossess her vehicle last week has been charged, officials said.

Shaquanda Danielle Tankersley was arraigned Monday in the 36th District Court in Detroit on multiple charges, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.

The 38-year-old is charged with assault with intent to murder and using a firearm during the commission of a felony, the office said.

A magistrate set the defendant's bond at $50,000 and scheduled a hearing to re-determine the bond for Wednesday, officials said. Tankersley is scheduled to
appear in court for a probable cause conference June 25.

The court also ordered her to have no contact with the victim and banned her from possessing a firearm or other dangerous weapon if released on bond, records
said.

If convicted, she faces up to life in prison for the assault charge and up to two years for using a firearm during a felony.

Court records did not list a lawyer for Tankersley on Tuesday, but did say she has petitioned for a court-appointed attorney.

Detroit police said that officers on routine patrol at 2:58 p.m. Thursday saw a woman firing shots at a truck and a man in the 10900 block of Nottingham Road
near Morang Avenue and Interstate 94 on the city's east side.

Authorities allege the defendant produced and fired a handgun multiple times at the victim after he repossessed a vehicle from her residence in the 10500 block
of Somerset Avenue, about two blocks from the shooting.

Police said the victim was unarmed, but officers returned fire and struck the suspect in the upper torso. No other injuries were reported.

Medics arrived and took the woman, later identified as Tankersley, to a hospital, officials said. They also said she was treated for her wounds and released.

The incident is among the most recent non-fatal shootings in Detroit.

On Sunday, two teens were wounded in a shooting during what police said was an illegal street party on Detroit's west side.

Last week, four people were hurt in a shooting on Detroit's west side. Police said they had a suspect in custody.

Also last week, a shooting on the east side left one person dead and another in critical condition.

Tether must mean a GPS tracker placed on her meth pipe so they know there she is at all times
