Fri, 20 Jun 2025 11:33:29 -0700 marlon from private IP Reply #19330234 odoriferous, but mild flavor. my scrambled eggs tasted ok using this oil, but i was forced into it as my pantry lacks butter or pam spray Fri, 20 Jun 2025 11:49:54 -0700 zerosugar from private IP Reply #19307638 never really used truffle oil. i imagine it may be odd in eggs. when i was a child and used to holiday with my grandparents in italy, we would put on all these clothes to not get stung by ivy and go search for truffles and for funghi. good days. this past summer, all these wild boers were loose in italy. a bit of truffle oil may be good for french fries! i actually prefer to cook pasta with some truffle pate or mushroom (funghi) pate. its hard to find good pates in usa. the ones they have at stores like eataly are just overpriced. i also think their porcini pate which they likely get from umbria or tuscany is nowhere near as good as the porcini pate from calabria which is impossible to find! chestnut flour for polenta is also so hard to find in usa. i brought some back from italy last year that i also found in calabria.
