odoriferous, but mild flavor.  my scrambled eggs tasted ok using this oil, but i was forced into it as my pantry lacks butter or pam spray

never really used truffle oil. i imagine it may be odd in eggs. when i was a child and used to holiday with my grandparents in italy, we would put on all these
clothes to not get stung by ivy and go search for truffles and for funghi. good days. this past summer, all these wild boers were loose in italy. 

a bit of truffle oil may be good for french fries! 

i actually prefer to cook pasta with some truffle pate or mushroom (funghi) pate. its hard to find good pates in usa. the ones they have at stores like eataly
are just overpriced. i also think their porcini pate which they likely get from umbria or tuscany is nowhere near as good as the porcini pate from calabria
which is impossible to find! chestnut flour for polenta is also so hard to find in usa. i brought some back from italy last year that i also found in calabria.

Went to a truffle oil restaurant in Rome, that cured me of truffle oil in main dishes

Good on an appetizer

Too strong for a main course

funghi can be too strong too. my last night in calabria before we headed north, i went to this restaurant near my home. i ordered a mushroom dish and while it
was good when i got home, i started sweating and felt my heart race all night. i think one may have been mildly poisonous or even psychedelic because i sort of
also started experiencing mild hallucinations with colors. i was ready to go to the hospital, but instead just made myself throw up and drank tons of water. 

a small tea spoon of funghi pate or truffle pate combined with butter or panna over pasta can be delicious though.
