A 26-year-old man drowned after jumping off a boat into what he believed was shallow water, FOX 2 Detroit reports.
The Detroit man could not swim. The boat had been trolling over a sandbar on Cass Lake but moved into deeper water before he jumped in, the report said. One of
the four other people on the boat attempted to rescue the man. The friend brought the man to the surface, but he was panicking and went back underwater. He did
not resurface after that.

Years ago, I took a scuba rescue class.
We did panicked diver drills with a very serious instructor.
Short version, expect a fight.
