It is a great experience and so worth it. There were shocking moments-- these guys were no-joke bashing each other with metal weapons in mock hand-to-hand combat, to the point of making their swords produce sparks and their shields clanging unbelievably loudly. And jousting that looked almost real. And a real falcon that flew around the arena about two feet over our heads. The overall feel is one of a classier form of a professional wrestling event, complete with scripted drama. Check out the photos and videos, if you like. Unfortunately I got a little food sick from the medieval chikun. Food was not great but show was nice. Still. The Beijing acrobat show is by far the best live show I have ever seen. Beats circus de soleil or any variety show. Gymnasts holding themselves up by their teeth. They're both great-looking and look shockingly young. We get constant comments at school from the other parents about my daughter. Folks have stopped me on the street while carrying her and told me she's the most beautiful toddler girl they've ever seen. We're very lucky.
