Depressing state of elderly care in USA

So now to live in an assisted living facility. It is about 5k-10k per month per person. Maybe you can get a shared room for like 7500 or 8k. There are waiting
lines for those.

Simply put most people cannot, and will not be able to afford all but the barest elderly care once they get old. This problem will become more and more serious
as social security benefits are reduced.

I am dealing with this now. Parents should have at least a caretaker come around a few times a week and a cleaning person. Someone to drive them to doctors
appointments etc. Even though they can afford it they are hesitant to do some cause it takes up a large chunk of their budget.

I shudder to think what old age will look for our generation. 30 and 40s. Either it falls on children's shoulders or if people do not have kids or kids hate
them then it really might be cat food and zoom doctor appointments and drone medicine deliveries.

Marlon how much would it cost to put your mom in an assisted or full care facility in your area? Must be like over 5k monthly right

$400 a day for a five-star full care facility, but that was back in 2018 when
my mom had the stroke, so it's way higher now.

Its 12k a month. 144k annually post tax. That's out of reach for 90% of Americans. Even a doctor earning 400k annually would balk at those prices.
