WGIC - rate my business insider article idea
Here is a potential title I have thought about /with the usual three sentence summary/
I brought three Chobani Coffee Creamer bottles to China and it has changed my Life
-I used to drink powdered coffee when I first moved to China. It was easy to carry.
-I changed my game up when I got a coffee machine but still had no decent creamer except sweetened condensed milk like viet coffee
-Now I brought three Chobani Coffee creamer and macademia nut milk so I dont have to use sweetened condensed milk. It has really changed my game.
What I really recommend to expats is, to think big and not limit yourself. Sure, we all have a 23kg / 50 lb luggage allowance. And it is not easy carrying those
creamers all over the country in planes, trains and automobiles.
But why not go for it? Its only one life we have. To drink shitty coffee in the morning is to steep yourself in mediocrity. Now I have the most ballingest
coffee in the morning in my village of 7 million. Could I get heavy cream and vanilla flavoring on Taobao? Sure. I probably could. But why would I should I?
Its my life and it's now or never. I ain't gonna live forever. I just want to live while I'm alive. Its my life. My heart is like an open highway. You can say I
did it my way. I just want to live while I'm alive.

don't they have their own coffee/tea culture there? maybe more tea? I guess tea just doesn't hit the same in the morning.

WGIC works in the industrial wastelands of China, with nary a Starbucks in his county. There are massive regional differences in China that are basically as
wide as Romania vs. Switzerland in Europe.
I live in Shanghai within a 10 minute walk of 3 Starbuckses, 1 Costa Coffee, and 3 independent cafes. There's 9500 cafes in Shanghai, more than any city in the
world, and the per capita consumption is well above the US average. But mostly I just go to Costco here for the 1 kilo bags and use my own Delonghi espresso
machine.

So for employment or long term travel to industrial wastelands, a French press is recommended. There is always an electric hot water kettle in any hotel, no
matter how budget or off the grid. And you can always carry a ground coffee bag or two. The issue comes in with if you like creamer in your coffee. Sweetened
condensed milk is the only viable option because it too is readily available in most grocery stores. Now if you are a sissy oat milk latte kind of bro such as
myself then you may need to cart an almond milk or chobani creamer or two. Sweetened condensed milk tends to be a bit gross although arguably chobani creamer is
not much better.

There may be a lunkin somewhere. I haven't checked lately, I go from office to hotel with my only stop on the way being the drunk old guy who runs a fruit store
out of the back of his truck.

I roadtrip with a French press. My electric kettle pulls to much to run on the inverter for my cra, so I have to use a battery bank for that. Sorted.

French press in Mexico is like bringing sand to the beach. Aren’t you in coffee heaven already?
