I personally believe in shall-issue CCW and nationwide reciprocity, and oppose assault weapon and standard capacity magazine bans. Some time ago, I proposed something called the America's Rifle Act, which would allow any law-abiding American age 21 or older to own one AR-15 and several magazines, notwithstanding State law to the contrary, until the Supreme Court addresses the issue of state assault weapon bans. The main place I diverge from the right wing is in National Firearms Act firearms such as machine guns, short-barreled rifles, and short-barreled shotguns. I think "pistol braces" and "bump stocks" are a freaking joke and a fraud, and that SBS/SBR/machine guns should be subject to additional regulations like they currently are. When people ask me to describe my personal politics I usually reply "liberal gun owner", and sometimes reply "conservative Democrat".
