There used to be an amusement park there called Kiddieland and they had a pretty cool sign. Sadly, a land dispute led to Kiddieland closing and now a Costco is there. While I like Costco, I also loathe the homogenization of the suburbs. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/kiddieland-sign Niles is another suburb of Chicago that has some pretty cool midcentury buildings and signs, but sadly this Greek diner mayor wants to destroy things. Then of course traveling down south you see so many. Even many of the southern states are becoming homogenized now. I would like to do route 66 one day, but not sure I have the will as road trips can haunt me.Replies require login.
