When I was about 11 or 12, my dad and uncle and I were skiing in Aspen. On a non-ski day, we were having lunch at a place in town, when my dad and uncle got
really excited and went to talk to a guy sitting alone at a table, smoking. It was Hunter S. Thompson.
It wasn't until a few years later that I realized they were cool for knowing about this guy in Aspen.
