I think part of my hatred for this novel is being forced to read it by Marlene Hubbard, my sophomore English teacher. It was a very strange class because she
did some cool things, like screening Roman Polanski's Macbeth (!) for us. But she also did crazy or stupid things, like forcing us to read Wuthering Heights.
The jarring contrast between cool things and stupid things made the course a roller coaster that I absolutely hated.
