(WGN) — Two day care workers are accused of attacking several children in northwest suburban Des Plaines, officials announced Tuesday. The battery incidents allegedly occurred at A Mother’s Touch Daycare between the dates of Nov. 3 and Nov. 19 of last year. It was on Nov. 20 that higher-ups with the day care became aware of an incident involving a child allegedly being sprayed in the face with water. A subsequent investigation resulted in the review of surveillance footage and the suspension of both workers. As a result, two women face multiple counts of battery. Jesica Murillo, 36, of Chicago faces three felony counts of aggravated battery and 12 misdemeanor counts of battery. Allegations against Murillo include slapping a child multiple times, hitting a child in the face with a notebook and dragging a four-year-old boy across the floor (causing a head injury). Izabella Thompson, 23, of Chicago, faces four misdemeanor counts of battery. Murillo is due in court on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Thompson will appear in court on Monday, March 30.
