I was in a Tier One data center from 2021-2023. It was OK, not worth the money. My office has reliable-enough internet and power to make it work for a law
firm on-premise. If the power were less reliable, it would be a different story, but I cannot justify spending $2k per month just for that extra 0.2% on the
uptime.

Admin-sahib, you could build out your own UPS to keep your servers running for, hmm, 3ish months of datacenter spend maybe. It would be a fun project.

Quite large capacity lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries can be had for surprisingly reasonable cost. That's if you don't get the real Gucci level fancy
ones. Then you need something like an inverter/charger, maybe the random dc-dc converter or something, and cabling knowhow. I think you could easily build
something robust enough to get you through an outage not caused by shtf.

What's the power draw on your core stuff?
