A nice leisurely arrival would be flight into Madrid, week or two there, train to Cadiz for another week there, then ferry down to the islands. Tenerife is
vying for attention, but I've already spent time there. Just transited Gran Canaria, and that has the only attractive city in the Canary Islands.
