Stick shift cars

https://www.washingtonpost.com/transportation/2026/07/17/death-stick-shift-is-almost-here/

Once I drove stick I used to love it
The only time I hated it is when at a stoplight
On an incline, think I burned out the clutch trying
To get moving again & avoid rolling back into the
Car behind me

Then I tried to replace the clutch myself but my
Mom had her stroke, I started messing up

It is just satisfying

Did Hayward to Fresno in a stick shift the day before Thanksgiving, 2001. Traffic, just a couple months after 9/11, was absolutely insane and basically parking
lot speeds. It was largely in 1st or 2nd gear. Loved that manual tranny in general, all the same.

I like them, but they are increasingly hard to find in the States.
