Basically, Perez Hilton starting stabbing himself on Tiktok live. The content was later removed. Not just cutting his wrists a little. There was blood everywhere. It looked like he skinned himself alive. I saw the video and it was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. I do not recommend looking for it or watching it. It’s what nightmares are made of. For those that do not know, Perez is a very famous gossip columnist. In the 00s, he covered all the crazy drama of celebs and would frequently paint penises on their faces with MSN paint. All the same, after Perez’s meltdown so many people are attacking him saying he didn’t show others empathy in the 00s. I think Perez did nothing wrong tbh. He just reported on nut jobs. There were so many other paparazzi at the time and so many other gossip outlets. It’s revisionist to make it seem like he was just targeting vulnerable young celebs. People like Lindsay Lohan acted psycho. She chased her assistant’s mother in a stolen escalade iirc and then at the end of the chase was busted for cocaine. She has cleaned up her act now after marriage to a Middle Eastern man and wants to play the victim rather than take accountability for her past actions. Understandable, but her actions were so insane at the time. She once even stole some woman’s coat at a night club. Britney went crazy and shaved her head over Kevin Federline, a guy who had kids with black women before her. She is still acting nuts and the Free Britney crowd were wrong all along in thinking she shouldn’t be under a conservatorship. Perez Hilton didn’t make these people do what they did. He simply joked about existing news reports and he was hilarious. When I was in class, I would click on his page nonstop for celebrity gossip. He became a legend and just as big as the stars he reported on. He was also chunky at the time and would dye his hair all these different colors. He was like a class clown. He later lost weight and adopted a more serious persona. He stopped with the MSN paint that made him famous. Honestly, I feel Perez did nothing wrong. Arguably the meanest thing he did was calling Jennifer Aniston “maniston” at the time because she was a vulnerable woman going through a nasty break up, but the content on Lindsay and Britney was hilarious because they were nuts. I also think he went too far with reporting on Mischa Barton who seemed harmless. However, 99 percent of his content was funny af. These were public figures who had a platform to respond to him unlike what Nik Richie did with his website The Dirty. The Dirty actually targeted private people. A 23 year old could go clubbing in Scottsdale and be scandalized the night after. Nik was this Armenian dude by the real name Hooman Karamian who married Shayne Lamas for a while. Shayne is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas and was on the Bachelor. Anyway, I hope Perez gets better soon. He is a legend.
