Why do we have the IRS ?
First of all thank God for the IRS
it's the only reason I had a job last 30 years
But I don't understand why they exist anymore.
The government just prints money in like there's
no tomorrow.
We have almost forty trillion dollars in debt.

I bought an interesting book, about English country houses. First chapter was about social dynamics of English upper classes. Country houses supported upper
classes by collecting rent from poor tenants. This gave the upper classes money and time to stay in London and politic.
IRS is essentially this system institutionalized. Upper classes need a way to extract rents from poors so they can sit in Washington and have meetings.

Fed can print money yes but that debt is secured by the future rents paid by the poors, so IRS is essential to giving lenders security for repayment of that
debt.
