Social security is doomed

https://archive.ph/Qfuac

too many people collecting social security.
Too many people collect social security when they don't need it.
Fix the tax code so that high earners are taxed more
on their social security.
Many people are so poor, social security is only income.

Yea the shrinking of this system will be epic. Also will be fascinating the downstream effects. Such as, when elderly parents cannot afford to live alone, you
will see the return of multigenerational households. Which will affect the housing demand a lot. Or you will see elderly people getting roommates.

Also fascinating how other countries will deal with the pension fund squeeze at the same time as higher labor costs. Who will take care of these old people? I
mean, basically us, in 20-30 years' time

The wage base limit is $184,500, it goes up every year,
But I think it should be eradicated

I've always assumed I won't be getting anything from it, and invested for retirement accordingly. I'm probably looking to retire in the next 5-7 years, so I
guess it will be a nice bonus amongst all the inflation.

iirc the "math" requires you to both raise taxes and raise the wage base limit. I guess once the Final Boomer retires or reaches the normal age to retire, we'll
also be at this benefit cliff, and can proceed to raise taxes on Gen X poors, millennial Losers, and zoomer browns.

The idea of it "going away" is pretty dumb because that's never happened to benefits at any point in history, and people have been talking about UBI for like 15
years as if it's an inevitability. imo it'll be, or "should" be, a combination of funding from general tax revenue, raising the wage base limit, and then also
having to raise the FICA withholding and/or employer share.

Whatever happens, people implicitly value non-white life less so zoomers will get screwed imo.
