Christina Riggs

Christina Riggs killed two of her children and then tried to commit suicide. She died by execution and supposedly wanted to die. She was convicted in the 90s
and killed in 2000. She remains the youngest woman to be executed at only 28. Such a sharp contrast with Lindsay Clancy. Lindsay is even worse because she
killed 3 kids, but Lindsay Clancy's trial is treated like some administrative hearing. I don't support neither extreme. I am against the death penalty, but also
against a criminal justice system that treats the murder of 3 children like an administrative hearing. Both are extremes. The merciless people in the Bible Belt
are wrong, but so are the people who act like Clancy was some victim. Christina Riggs really did have a sad background. Lindsay Clancy is a privileged New
England woman with old parents who clearly had means and a husband who had enough money to hire her a nanny. Anyway, nobody debated whether Riggs was mentally
ill or whether a suicidal Riggs was killing her kids because they couldn't live without her. Nobody labeled it postpartum. This is also why the justice system
is a joke. One person can be put to death and another freed for nearly the same conduct depending on the state. I am against the death penalty even if I believe
some crimes deserve death. Judges just shouldn't play God. I also think people who commit horrific crimes towards defenseless victims shouldn't be coddled as
what is happening to Clancy.
