Corporate gobbledygook
Say what you will about ChatGPT, it is top notch at translating English into
corporate nonsense. Every year I agonize over my annual goals, because it can't
just be a plain language list of what I want to do this year. It has to be a
SMART goal, it has to incorporate business strategy, 2024 strategic imperatives,
and Lean Six Sigma for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, my job hasn't changed in a
decade.
So I gave ChatGPT a primer on all of our nonsense for 2024, and it re-wrote my
resume as perfect fodder for the HR folks who have more input into raises than
you might think. Thanks Skynet!

The other day I got a demo from Lexis of their A.I. legal research assistant.
It's amazing, but not ready for prime time. I need an A.I. carbon copy of
myself that I can have do legal research, doc review, etc., and it's just not
there yet. It also costs a fortune, even on a multi-year contract.

Yeah, the goal setting is actually the first real use case I've had for it. I
tried free ChatGPT out to draft some boilerplate contractual clauses, and I had
to do so much re-writing it wasn't worth the time. I'm sure a decade from now it
will be negotiating all of the contracts for us, but I'm safe for now.

The A.I. avatar generator I found is pretty good if you give it a sufficient
prompt. Doing one-word username prompts is not that effective, as you can see
from your current avatar. There's a limit of 20 images per day, so I haven't
gotten very serious about individual users' avatars. I'm amazed at @cowgodTest's avatar, which is perfect.
