whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Robert Telles trial Anyone watching it? Fascinating Tue, 27 Aug 2024 16:49:24 -0700
Andy from private IP /all What's the nutshell version? Wed, 28 Aug 2024 10:05:45 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all I've watched some of the trial, and I have met both Robert Telles and Jeff German. Telles is and always has been an exceedingly weird guy. Just look at him and you can see that he is crazy. Jeff German was a good guy. A real old-school, crusty kind of reporter who was respected by everyone. I liked him. Telles' defense was absurd. He's guilty AF. Telles is correct, though, about the shady dealings of the company that he alleges is framing him for the murder along with others. That company was ripping off heirs. But no, they didn't kill Jeff German and frame him for the murder or seize the opportunity to frame him after some other unknown person killed German. Wed, 28 Aug 2024 10:14:25 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all Nutshell Version is: Telles murdered German. There's video of him driving over there in his wife's SUV. Video showed the murderer walking around. The police found the shoes and straw hat that he was wearing, all cut up, in his house. They also found his DNA under German's fingernails. Telles claims that he is not a murderer and it's a frame job, see, I didn't do it, see. Wed, 28 Aug 2024 14:57:15 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all As expected, he was found guilty of First Degree Murder. I'm just surprised that the jurors took so many hours to deliberate. Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:12:52 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Wow we should get together! Maybe we have similar interests in common. Telles is a huge weirdo. Love how he switched to the spanish pronounciation of double l. Should have started calling himself Roberto. He wore lifts in his shoes to make himself 6 foot 5 It's amazing that these kinds of people are able to occupy positions of relative influence. Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:13:41 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Andy, you should watch his testimony which was done in narrative form. He is not only crazy but also an idiot. Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:16:36 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all You are right p&c, how sweet of a deal is it to get 100% of the county's probate real estate sales business. That is wild. Las vegas is a dirty town. Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:18:58 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all The funny part about his defense was, if indeed conpass really framed him with a hired impersonator assassin etc, wouldn't that just draw more attention to what is going on inside the probate dept? Now everyone knows the scam because of the murder. If they are sophisticated enough to hire killers in identical vehicles and disguises, and plant DNA evidence, couldn't they just run him over or something? Thu, 29 Aug 2024 09:22:07 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all This lady did a decent commentary I thought https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4idbElbqwQ&pp=ygUYTGF3eWVyIGxlZSByb2JlcnQgdGVsbGVz Sitting through the entire testimony is also worthwhile, just to see what a dumb ass that man is He will end up trying to kill himself in prison and will fail - because he is that kind of loser and won't even be able to off himself properly Thu, 29 Aug 2024 14:09:51 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all It wouldn't surprise me at all if he kills himself. The guy has had a huge ego, unjustifiably so, since at least law school, based on what I know of him. He was the Clark County Public Administrator, which is a really obscure office that hardly anyone understands or cares about. But he fancied himself an up-and-coming Democrat star and he clearly wanted to rise up the ladder and be somebody. Unfortunately for him, his ruinous receding hairline doomed him before he was even out of his 20s. Thu, 29 Aug 2024 14:17:07 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all That testifying by narrative thing was an awful idea. Testifying at all was an awful idea. Robert Draskovich, Telles's lawyer, is well-respected as one of the better criminal defense attorneys in Vegas. Telles should have listened to his advice. He actually should have just taken a plea deal and been done with it. One other thing -- I think the jury was too lenient with the sentence. I think the case called for life without the possibility of parole, not life with the possibility of parole after 20 years. I'm hoping the judge is harsh when Telles is sentenced for the enhancements of deadly weapon and elderly victim. Fri, 30 Aug 2024 13:27:37 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Yea but if he took a plea deal who would listen to his story?? Fri, 30 Aug 2024 14:59:48 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all That's true. Also, what kind of person wears lifts to make himself 10.5 inches taller? He is 5'6.5" and wore lifts to make him 6'5". I'd like to be 6'9" like TI and Michael Crichton (RIP), but that seems more than a little excessive. Fri, 30 Aug 2024 15:03:02 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all He is 5'6"?? R u serious? I got that he was 6 5 with lifts but didn't realize they were so huge. That's like Herman munster stuff. What a weirdo. Fri, 30 Aug 2024 15:08:03 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all That's what I was picturing, too! Some Herman Munster shoes. Fri, 30 Aug 2024 15:22:14 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all Discussion of Telles in high school, by his cousin: In a recent telephone interview with the Review-Journal from his home in Washington state, Santino Telles recalled the nerdy younger cousin he used to spend Christmases with as a child in El Paso. “He was never the jock,” Santino Telles said. “He didn’t date pretty girls. He had self-esteem issues. He was very nerdy, reserved and quirky.” Sat, 31 Aug 2024 17:08:48 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all Do u know how I can get a job like Telles? It sounds like an awesome gig. Collect overtime driving around and appraising dead people's property. Probably get a county car or write off your own vehicle use. He kept boning his subordinate at Las Vegas premium outlets because he could come and go as he pleased. Sat, 31 Aug 2024 17:15:30 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vWv9ScFo_NU&pp=ygUhUm9iZXJ0IHRlbGxlcyBiZWhhdmlvcmFsIGFtYWx5c2lz This was a hilarious analysis of body language. They basically made fun of his testimony and personality for 2 hours, with a body language/ interrogation point of view. Conclusion was, he is an idiot. Sat, 31 Aug 2024 17:19:26 -0700
whiteguyinchina from private IP /all There is a part in his testimony where he is being questioned about the cut up shoe under his couch. Lol. But anyway as he is discussing this, he is sitting stiffly with his hand on his chin. They made fun of that for a while, how it looked like someone who had watched YouTube interrogation videos. But anyway the swivel chair jumped and he popped up about 4 inches. He was so wooden that he didn't even react to it. They laughed at that too.like he was so focused on lying that a jumping chair didn't even chase him. Sat, 31 Aug 2024 20:05:02 -0700
PeanutsandCashews from private IP /all To be the Public Administrator, you have to run for the office. It's such an obscure office that almost nobody outside the legal world has any idea what duties are performed by the Public Administrator. Because it's an elected office, the boss doesn't get any overtime. But you do get a car ... and the affections of certain underlings, apparently. Being an elected county official is not a bad gig. If you are so inclined, you can choose not to work very hard, especially if you have a competent staff who can do most or all the work for you. The only way you can be ousted is if the DA chooses to file a petition to have you removed for malfeasance or nonfeasance.
