Was "same guy" a JDU inside joke?

I would use that response and comment outside of JDU, from time to time, and no
one understood what out meant.  Old JDU was really a subculture, all is own.

It was a snarky reply to someone making a genuine inquiry about two different
people.  

Example:  who was a worse coach for the Buffalo Bills, Mike Mularkey or Doug
Marrone?  Answer:  "same guy". 

Eventually people started using it as a snarky reply to non-people comparative
questions.
