An assassin would also more likely use a suppressed .22, and go for the headshot somewhere other than a bustling street at 6:45 a.m. Nothing makes sense for a professional hit in this scenario. I buy the disgruntled claimant explanation, which means it is only a matter of time before they find the killer.
